I paid less for my 2024 4S 6 months ago. Not CPO, but 16k miles and still had 2 yrs left full warranty so didn’t need CPO.

OP, non CPO shouldn't be deal breakers. Dealers tack on a few extra thousand for a CPO car. If it's CPO with an expired or near expiring factory warranty, sometimes it may be better to save the few extra thousand and shop around for an extended warranty. Something like Fidelity Platinum will cover beyond the window of the HV battery warranty.

Take a look at what 8+ year old Tesla Model S go for. Literally pennies on the dollar.

Which makes absolute sense when you think about it: battery out of warranty and, if it fails, the cost to replace it wildly exceeds the car's value.....statistically that may not be highly likely .... but it's a real fear that drives this kind of depreciation.

How is this fixed? longer battery warranties; cheaper (more generic?) battery replacements; else?

Until it is fixed, we EV owners are paying for the problem by suffering awful depreciation and that issue is not subject to easy fix.

That’s a pretty good deal for a ‘24. I am just in a very preliminary phase of looking at the car so haven’t really negotiated the price with them yet.

Kelly Blue Book for a 2022 Taycan 4s with 15,000 miles is somewhere between $63k and $66k depending on spec. I think you have some room to negotiate here. For example, offer $70k but ask that it include the 4 year Porsche Platinum extended warranty.

The best part about negotiation is that you can always walk away
