I've been trying to debug this as it was happening pretty frequently for me.

The most reproducible fix I've found so far is to check if your phone is able to connect to your vehicle's wifi. If your vehicle's wifi isn't enabled, try turning it on and connecting to it. After connecting, try re-establishing Carplay via the PCM. This may take a couple tries. Make sure you can connect to both the 5 ghz band and the 2.4 ghz band (they'll typically show up as two separate wifis).

My suspicion as to why this works comes from attaching a logger to the iPhone and observing the Carplay diagnostics as they stream by. In my case, I was seeing continuous failures of Carplay to initiate a connection with the vehicle's wifi. After manually connecting to the wifi my phone's wireless Carplay started working again. It still fails sometimes, but now when it fails I can see that my car's wifi is simply nonexistent, so there might be something in the PCM contributing to this issue.

I just tested in my car and the wireless carplay works ok so nothing to do with the iOS update.

While doing your tests try to disconnect the iPhone from any other Wifi network (like home Wifi).
In addition, reboot the iPhone. I solved connectivity issues with a phone reboot a couple of times.

Happened to me the 1st time last week for both my iPhone and my wife’s iPhone so it has nothing to do with the phone itself. When you go in the devices settings in the PCM I noticed that both phones are greyed out. I also noticed that you cannot add new phones or go in Bluetooth or Wireless setting in the PCM. There is a message that says please press the power button to turn on bluetooth and WiFi. It looked like the PCM partially crashed and Bluetooth and WiFi don’t load anymore.

Tried multiple things like closing the car for a few minutes and unlocking and switching again, or logging out and logging in Myposrche in the PCM. Didn’t work.
If I recall well the only thing that fixed the issue was by rebooting the PCM using the 2 fingers method.

Same here, PCM restart with 2 fingers resolved it.
