Missed this thread.

Hello from Melbourne Australia.

New to Taycan (MY22), previously owned 2 x 911 and a Boxster before kids, and have returned to Porsches now that the kids are older.

Hello fellow Taycan enthusiasts! My name is Griffin from Texas and a new member of this forum. I recently purchased a MY21 Turbo S in Neptune Blue. I had been cross-shopping Audi E-tron but the Taycan ticked all the right boxes for me plus I loved the aesthetic over the E-tron which (personal opinion) I think will age much better over time compared to the Audi variant. I bought out of state to get the configuration and color I wanted. This is not my first VAG group car (Id4 and Golf R's in the past) and I currently have a Civic Type R alongside. This Taycan is my first Porsche. Yes, it is 5+ years old but with CPO warranty and remaining battery warranty past that, so I could not pass it up especially with used EV prices where they are. It was an amazing value for an incredible car with a lot of heart on the road. In my short time with it, I am thrilled the Taycan is a driver's car first that just happens to be an EV. These forums and posts from other enthusiasts helped edge me toward my purchase as I was researching everything. So thank you and see you around!

Hi All,

New Turbo owner here from the UK and really pleased with the car having purchased it a few weeks ago from an OPC.

Only one thing which I have experience with in my former Mercedes ownership and that’s noisy door seals. If your cars a few years old (mines 4 years old) I would highly recommend treating the door seals with a product such as the Mercedes lubrication oil A0009893660. You only need a tiny amount and it stops dried out door seals sticking to the glass which causes creaking noises.

My 10th Porsche (all prior were iterations of the 911: 996, 997, 991, 992-Turbo, Turbo S's, GT3, GTS's, C4S) and 2nd EV (Plaid was first). Looking forward to learning and sharing with some great members. Appreciate the early intel from @Mr.Smith and enduring all my questions as they arose.

I think I might add spacers and MapEV tune to get the full monty all the time but I still need to enjoy the car "as is".

MSRP: 246335.00

An NOOOOO I didnt pay close to it LOL.

Welcome! Where in Texas are you? There’s at least 5 Taycans in the Austin PCA chapter.

After years of 911's and Caymans, I decided to also go for a Porsche for my daily.
I chose a Gen 2 Taycan C4S spec'd exactly as this one:

I will add pictures of my own and personal impressions shortly, but I am so pleased after a month and 2.000 mile driving it that I needed to share my enthusiasm.
Many may not agree, but it drives like a real P-car and it is a dream for long commutes.

The car is a 1 year old, low mileage CPO, I could not pass on the savings of the Taycan depreciation (34% off MSRP). I know I could have gone for another one with higher depreciation, but it would not have matched what I was looking for as well and this one was as good as new.
My dealership was very helpful in locating a Taycan that matched my exact list of specifications.

I have had the bad habit of customizing my cars to my own exact taste, but in the case of an EV, I am not inclined to tune the powertrain (nor do I feel it is necessary) and the suspension is just perfect. Furthermore, I have no plan to track it or maybe once at Spa or on the ā€˜ring just to get a feel of how it behaves.

Being in Europe, it came with clear side markers, fully functioning HD-Matrix LED… and the very irritating speeding alert that can fortunately be disabled. The only option missing from my wish list were the privacy tinted rear windows, but I will get them filmed this week end.

PS: sorry if my English is not perfect, I am not a native speaker but I picked up as much of the language as I could during a decade spent in the US.
