Mounting the porsche mobile charger vs a new unit

hi all

I am about to get my first EV/porsche and very excited.

can anyone advise the best way to get an EV point? I know we get theporsche mobile charger and i believe I can get an electrician to mount it and install it? I have read its IP 55 rated but then others say you need the wall box for it which is a ridiculous price around £500 for a box essentially.

I know most people seem to get a new EV point but the price to install the mobile charger at around 200 quid VS a new EV point around £1000 seems a no brainer no?

Get an electrician to install a commando socket near where you park the car and use the one supplied with the car.
It comes with plastic cradle you screw to the wall to support the unit.

No need for a separate unit, though I had already installed one at my house before I knew the supplied one gives the same performance.

Similar position.

I'm getting my sparks to put in a 32A circuit with commando socket.

Will then mount the charger that came with the car next to it and see how that goes.

If it doesn't do what's needed, I'll put in a different EVSE later

(Circuit alone is £700 for me due to a pain in the arse run as my current garage circuit isn't good enough).

I think IP55 is OK in rain etc. Just not jets of water directed at it. It shouldn't be submerged, so wouldn't be inclined to leave it on the floor in rain.
