Hi folks!
500 miles on my gen 1.2 and today I have seen the first real improvement over gen 1.1.
This is 100 miles on a known road 80% motorway at 68/72 steady mph in range mode and 20% B roads in normal mode. Done many times with my previous CT 4S and at least I have now seen 50 miles more range than before. Not bad so far.

If the range guess-o-meter is the only thing you have seen improved you are not looking hard enough :)

The J1.2’s charging speed is significantly improved and makes range an irrelevance for any road trip where there is adequate infrastructure. The user interface is much improved around charge setup; and there is a very useful new screen that shows the maximum charge rate currently being accepted by the car. Models with push-to-pass now have a cool way to hit acceleration hard. And it has better reliability in quite a few ways, although still not perfect.

This is interesting.
I only regularly (3 to 4 times per year) do a journey which requires me to visit a "fast" charger, rather than charge at home.
I usually plan my stops when I am going to eat and at my favourite eating places the chargers are 120kW and 50kW and yet I always have had enough charge during these stops.
On the occasion I went to a faster charger than that, near Blackburn when there for a week, the charge rate I actually got varied quite a bit from charge to charge and was only once, iirc, limited by the car.
Once I stopped on a motorway services charger because my granddaughter wanted the toilet, I plugged in since I might as well and the charge speed meant I got far more than I expected (or needed) before she re-appeared :).

I am clearly not the sort of owner who would benefit from a change!

Yes, everyone has their own usage pattern. For me the Turbo Sport Turismo is a euro touring car — we’ve been getting 300kW+ regularly at IONITY which makes a stop of 10 minutes sufficient. Brilliant.

Now, that is proper speed!
Never used a charger....just at home
