For fun, I picked up a Pixel Watch 2 (yes I'm aware v4 is coming out next month, but I couldn't resist picking up a LTE version under $150!). I stumbled across the My Porsche App for Wear OS (google watch OS). I didn't expect much from it as I was very underwhelmed with the limited features of the Tag Heuer E4 Connected (also on Wear OS) Porsche Edition.

I have to say, based on what I paid, I'm very impressed with the features. It provides the most important data from the phone app, e.g. charging, battery and shutdown status, ability to unlock/lock and precondition, and tire pressure and trip stats.

The only fault I found was that despite setting the app to Fahrenheit units, the preconditioning is still in metric. All other units are as I have configured.

Ultimately, I cannot get myself to pay $1600 for the Tag Heuer for effectively an electronic product with 4-5 years of support and worth $400 (dealer trade in value). I really like the aesthetics of the Tag, and if I can find it preowned for $600 or so, I'll buy it. But IMO, if you just want basic vehicle stats, stick with Android or Apple watches' Porsche apps and call it a day!

So far, the Porsche app on my Apple Watch doesn’t work. It’s activated and shows up on the Apple Watch. But when I open the app it spins far a while and then shuts down. Curious about others experience with the app on an Apple Watch.

On my Apple Watch, the app works ok and shows status etc, but the complications I set on my home screen do not.

For some reason, the info does show up on my Apple Watch but everything is in metric units (I’m in the US). The app on my phone is in imperial units. Tried restarting both apps (phone first) but the units won’t sync. Really the only data info I’m really interested in is the SoC and interior preset for temperature, though. I can deal with 22C as the set temp. Probably it’s best to get familiar with the rest of the world anyway!

There's a setting in the app on the watch to change units. Despite setting it as Fahrenheit, the preconditioning is in Celsius

I see the option to switch units in the phone app but not within the watch app (on the phone and on the watch itself). The data do seem to sync among the car, phone app, and the watch app. The Porsche engineers make great cars, the digital UX seems a bit behind. I was able to upload my G body Targa into the app as a second car. Obviously about zero digital information is associated with that car. It did link some build specs for that one as well!

Had the same thing. I uninstalled the app from my watch and re-installed. It ultimatey synced properly and now shows miles, psi and fahrenheit.

Speaking of the Apple Watch (Ultra), I was able to set the action button to turn on climatization. One touch and the cabin starts pre-cooling. Game changer!
