Hi,
This is not clickbait, my Taycan actually smells like fish when wet (puns encouraged). It happens when I power wash it, I do that once or twice a week. At first, I did not immediately link it to the Taycan as I also wash other cars inside my garage. I thought the smell is either a problem with the drainage system or from some of the products I use to wash cars. I was telling myself it can't be fish, it must be something else and my brain is playing tricks on me. Then some family members walked into my garage as I was washing the Taycan and immediately said the garage smells like shrimps. So I started paying more attention until I linked it to the Taycan. The smells lingers in the garage for an hour or so after washing the car then goes away.
I suspect that it is the PPF, it was dealer installed covering all the paint but I don't know the brand or specs of it. When I smelled the PPF while washing the car with water only, it did smell fishy indeed. The waster, soap and other products don't have that smell. I am planning on changing the PPF because they did not do a good job. Did anyone face this issue before?
On another note, when I got the Taycan I thought it would be easier to wash than my other cars. It turns out that it is one of the hardest to clean properly. The gaps around the fameless windows, windshield, rear windows and panoramic roof gather dust like crazy and would not get clear without using a small brush. Also, the area under the spoiler gather all the foam from all the gaps around it and would take a long time to get that out. I'd have to open the trunk and power wash the spoiler in that vertical position to get all the foam out. Finally, I would have to open the front trunk and clean all the soap and water underneath it. I did not own a vehicle with a front trunk before, so maybe this is normal but still annoying.
