Not much of an update, but contacted the dealer today, asked if they knew anything about the recall, or where my car is. They have replied that it’s showing as on the boat (which it was showing on the 29th September) There are no active recalls that they are aware of, but then They could not explain why my car is not in Sheerness. I’m waiting on the dealership to get back to me after contacting Porsche UK to find out more info...If I do hear anything else I’ll post on here.

Ok so just had an email from the dealership confirming all MY2021 UK Taycans built during the production run of 23rd and 24th September have been “blocked” by Porsche for release. Still no idea why, they think it’s something to do with quality control? Anyway dealership are being very good and offering us a courtesy car as of next week in lieu of the real thing. So at least it’s not all bad news. Again if I hear any more will let you know as if it’s a recall I’d like to know why...

Thanks for the update Matt, you've managed to get more information than I have. I'll keep pressing Porsche UK and see if I can establish the reason for the "block"

Shame they didn't check my car while it was in the factory. I just been told it needs a new PCM and top screen and its coming from Germany at some point

"Quality control" that's a nice catch-all statement to make. You would think they would immediately prioritise that batch even if it causes trickle delays for others - like me. Better to resolve the issues than just leave these cars parked in a depot somewhere...I hope you get a more comprehensive update and timeline for fix.

The Malacca Highway is the principal vehicle carrier Porsche (and VW Group) uses from Emden to Sheerness and you can track it here, if you know you are onboard... https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessel...The current position of MALACCA,Oct 14, 20:00.

Good luck...

Hi Tayc4s,
I'm not to sure that this won't affect your car as I still do not know why the cars have been sent back to the Factory. As far as I'm aware there have been no deliveries of any my2021 cars at all. So perhaps this is bigger than we think. I hope not, perhaps the 12v issue is being fixed?
Anyway hope it doesn't affect your car.

I will try and send an update tomorrow after I speak with my OPC. My car was supposed to be getting a boat ride last Friday according to Porsche but not sure.

My MY21 4S was produced a week earlier than this affected UK batch. Earliest pickup date was Oct 29th but because of scheduling conflicts at my end I stuck to the original date of Nov 5th.

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone heard of there’s a recall on UK MY2021 cars built between 23rd and 24th Sept? Our car has been sat at Emden since we the 28th September, due for Delivery week commencing the Week commencing the 6th, but so far not hearing or getting any information. As far as I’m aware the car was not loaded onto the Mallaca Highway and another owner on here suspected there car was delayed and sent back to the factory. Anyone else confirming this?
thanks

It's painful to hear these issues when only a few days away from delivery...
I expected to have some problems with a new car that was this technologically advanced, so a few trips to the shop hasn't been a surprise. I love the car, but I'm disappointed that Porsche doesn't seem to be able to fix them quickly. I think that the service techs need more training, and Porsche must solve the US repair parts inventory problem.

You are based in Germany, had you car built middle Sept and the earliest you could pick-up was end of Oct - that seems very odd to me in terms of the time from build to pick-up in Germany...?

I was told by dealer this morning that production on all Taycans has been pushed back. I originally had a production complete date of Nov 24th, this has since slipped to December 4th. Now concerned about that 10% Brexit fee......

So my OPC contacted me this morning and advised that my car (MY21) is showing on the system as "on board/in transit", but in reality according to my sales rep, it is actually sitting in Sheerness with a huge backlog of other Porsche vehicles. My sales rep is going to try and find out from vehicle planning (at Porsche GB) if they can provide any further release date information.

Also, Porsche UK have apparently delivered several MY21 cars and it is only certain chassis numbers that have been held back, not all UKI MY21 cars. My sales rep indicated that mine + 1 other customers MY21 cars were not in the "hold back" list.
