I wanted to be sure that I've got all things in place for me to receive the OTA update for the battery management software that some have already started to receive. When driving today, I noticed in the PCM that the network connectivity symbol shows no connection (two opposite facing arrows with a line through them, see pic). This occurs *all* the time, even when within CarPlay, I can see that the phone in my car (also on the same Verizon network that I believe the Taycan uses) has 4 bars of solid LTE connectivity.

I have let my Porsche Connect service lapse and am not paying for that, but I was under the impression that Porsche Connect Care is free for 10 years from when the car was new - which should be *every* Taycan on the road, and which provides for OTA updates, and the MyPorsche app shows that I have OTA updates enabled.

I have tried the two finger PCM reboot with no change.

So why does my car not show a valid network connection? Am I required to buy the Connect service in order to see the "LTE" displayed there, instead of the broken arrows? Not very intuitive if so, especially if it's working for Connect Care. Or do I have a problem somewhere? I've seen other threads with owners having to get some OTA module replaced or something?

Let me ask my question more directly, in hopes of getting a response: do people who have let their Connect subscription expire still show a "connected" symbol on their PCM? i.e. it says "LTE" or whatever, and not the two arrows with a slash through them?

No, for those whose Connect plan has expired, the “connected” icon (two arrows) will no longer be displayed on PCM. Instead, they will see an icon with two crossed-out arrows or possibly text such as “No Connection”, “Disconnected”, or a warning icon depending on the device.

Actually, this isn't correct. I just got my Taycan back from Porsche to do the ARB6 recall (since I couldn't get it OTA!), and they also fixed this issue. They had to reset something, but basically no major equipment malfunction or anything. I now show LTE in the PCM, without having a Connect subscription.
