Are people not strong enough to close their doors?

I think there were soft close on my M5 but I never once used the feature. I’ve never felt that closing a car door was difficult.

So how clean / non invasive is the install? Any tinkering required on Taycan parts? Wire cutting / tapping? Or all clean plug & play?

I used to think that about rolling down a window and locking a door.
(Although of course those features help a drive with the windows and locks for other doors.)

Soft close doors are, in my opinion, a missing feature of the Taycan. It has so many other luxury and performance features, it is an odd omission. For those of you saying to just slam it or that it's no needed, I offer that having it as an option would allow you to decide if you want it or not. I traded in an S-Class for the Taycan and it had soft close (it also didn't have the opening detents so it stayed open at any angle no matter how far you opened the door, but that's another discussion). My wife's BMW X7 also has soft close. Once you get used to it, you expect it. We have other cars that don't have soft close, so we never fully trained to just let the door almost close and finish with soft close, but I can't tell you how many times I was happy that the S550 or the X7 had it... get home late, let the door soft close and it won't wake up the family or get the dog barking. It's also just nice to see that last few mm of the door "snick" closed. By contrast, I have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JKU) and it requires the mother of all slams to ensure the last door to be closed is actually closed. I think it's air pressure fighting the seal on the doors. Given the 2 options, I would always choose soft close. My wife expects it on the Jeep and slammed the door closed once and the seat belt tongue was in the door frame... it left quite a dent that won't buff out! Wonder if anyone ever retrofitted the soft close to a Jeep.... hmmmm (na, probably won't work since the doors are detachable anyway)
