I am so glad I purchased the tire/wheel protection plan with the car in July 2021. Porsche dealerships have been great at honoring the replacements, quickly and graciously - both Porsche Riverside and Porsche Irvine, CA. Each replacement would cost from around $550 (front) to $650 (rear)
1st, rear left - noticed a slow leak just a few days after buying, it was a screw, stuck.
2nd, front right - there was a nail, (most likely) that came out during a U-turn, and the tire deflated within 2 minutes. I found the hole where air was coming out. Had to tow, and the break-down experience was really good.
Then, after a while, left front completely wore out, and I replaced both fronts (paid myself over $1K).
3th, rear left (again), a slow leak, a drywall screw in outside sidewall.
4th, rear right, a slow leak, a metal shard was visibly stuck between threads.
5th, rear right (again), happened last night while on a highway. Tire deflated within a minute and I just had time to pull over to shoulder. Again, the breakdown call made my day. Even though I had to wait for 2 hours, the towing service was great. Once the car was dropped off, I couldn't see what the problem was, but I think it was likely a defective tire (or valve?) since it happened so quickly and without a preceeding slow leak.
I've driven for many years, and I never had such bad luck with tires. I'm thinking that the heavy weight of Taycan (or any EV) makes a tire failure more likely, and possibly the extra width of tires (especially rear)?
P.S. the OEM tires (and replacements) were Michelin Pilot Spot 4, R20.
