PCM Issues

[PDACPA]

Did the PCM get some updates recently? I looked in it and just says my car is up to date (but no history).

What has been happening is that it seems to take much longer to load when I get in the car. See "PORSCHE" on the screen and spinning wheel. Usually it was done by the time I buckled up and I could hit my garage on the screen.

Secondly, the radio takes much much longer to display my favorites. The screen is just blank. It eventually populates within a mile or two of driving. It will play the last channel, but as soon as Carplay connects wirelessly, that cuts out and I cannot go back to the radio channel till the list populates.

Lastly, (and this may be related to my trial period...took delivery end of September 2021) Sirius/XM channels on my favorites are grayed out. I have to use the joker button on the steering wheel to cycle between the various audio sources. Once it gets to the Sirius/XM I get the "Welcome to your All Access Trial." I have to hit the agree on the PCM and then I have access to the channels. Well I started my trial back in September, so why do I have to keep accepting every time I get in the car?

I resolved this problem by rebooting the PCM.

I have the same, but some days it loads really fast, others it takes a long time. No rhyme or reason for the inconsistency that I can determine.

Earlier this week I had the software update complete at my dealer. Since then, my PCM is working a lot better. Carplay connects to my iPhone wirelessly almost immediately every time! Huge improvement.

Same with me. The only question is whether it was the software update or that they rebooted the PCM which did the trick.

Looks like so. I have a MY21 and notice that Spotify is available to link. Need to create an account to see if I get the app in the PCM too.

I have not had my update done, but will report back when I do. I have noticed that if I get in the car and do not touch the PCM at all, CarPlay connects fairly quickly and goes right back to the Spotify song that was playing when I parked. If I select Media before it connects, then it takes forever to make the connection.

Just another thought. Was explaining it to a friend how just bought a Jeep Gladiator. He has the same issues, with CarPlay thinking has priority and does not just quietly connect and let you decide if you want to stop playing the radio and listed to Spotify.

So two different brands with the same issues tells me Apple is causing part of our issue!
