Still trying to figure it out but anyone knows if there is a way in PIWIS to record my original car values of all the systems before I attempt to code anything. In case I f...I want to be able to go back or at least have original data that I can use to fix my mistake?

You can generate the VAL which includes a lot of, perhaps all of settings values. You can also auto-code any ECU(s) which will code them back to settings per your global values set under "Maintenance of Vehicle Data" (if you haven't modified those, it will recode the ECU back to factory values as per your build).

Hi ,
thanks for the info. Quick question to you and the others here: Has anyone actually tried the auto-coding function with an offline version of PIWIS 3 on the Taycan?

I once tried it on my old 997 and it pretty much bricked the car temporarily — after the auto-code many functions were dead and I had to do a lot of manual coding and adaptations in the ECUs to get it back on the road. It was quite stressful.

Just wondering if Porsche has improved this with the Taycan or if similar risks still exist with offline PIWIS. Would be great to hear real experiences.

Thanks!

Lots of times, as matter of time recoding ECU's to EU often involves changing the global maintenance settings like "region" and then auto-coding relevant ECUs.
