Hello everyone!

Yes, I know that there are a lot of dashcam threads here, but I haven't seen one talking exclusively about this one.

The "new" Porsche DASHCAM is any good? I can see it only points forward and I'm not sure if this keeps filming while the car is closed and parked.

Any lights on this? I'm just asking because I'm pretty sure any other non-Porsche branded camera would void the car warranty. So, this one at least is "officially supported" by Porsche.

Thank you!

in earlier threads about the porsche dash cam the consensus was to stay away from it. it is a poor performer and is cumbersome when installed.

I've got it on my car. My OPC fitted it, and it's neat and unobtrusive. It switches off with the car but re-activates itself (and then switches itself off again) for any movement close to the car.

It is only forward facing as you say.

The picture quality is good and there's an app for your 'phone.

It's the first dash cam I have had, so I am no expert, but it seems OK to me.

If value is important to you, the Porsche camera is, of course, expensive for what you get. If you insist on the brand, Suncoast has it for $475.
