Actually, when I coming to pick the vehicle after the service repair I discovered dirt around the hood and crest. Therefore the damage wasn’t very visible before I rinsed it off with water, and the the damage revealed itself on the emblem and PPF.
I thought at first someone maybe had closed the hood with keyes or tool in their hand, but threw that idea away since Porsche expressed “stone chips”. Now as you suggest another cause, I suspect same as you so, since the crest is actually rather hard and sustainable.
Either way what caused it, the damage was surely not there before delivery. It would be a small “gesture” for Porsche to replace what they damaged., including the PPF. I think it is not a greatest idea to treat a customer who recently bought 200K Porsche like this.
We'll see if they reason a little wiser after a while
