Introduction:

Inspired by the book Porsche Drive - 15 passes in 4 days by Stefan Bogner and Jan Baedeker - and some similar road trips shared by forum members like @tigerbalm, we took our J2 Taycan Cross Turismo 4S to a 3350 Km (2080 miles) road trip from Norway to Germany, Switzerland, Italy and back to Norway.

The Car:

A well specced J2 Cross Turismo 4S, Carmine Red, black leather interior, 21" wheels, rear axle steering, Sport Chrono with push to pass, 18 way seats, matrix hd lights, soft close, passenger display...The car was registered new in March 2025 and had about 6000Km when we started our trip.

The route:

The first part of the trip was focused on family holidays reaching the north of Italy through Germany and Switzerland.
Day 1 : Oslo > Kiel in Germany with Color Line ferry.
Day 2 : Kiel > Fulda in Germany
Day 3: Fulda > Stuttgart and a stop in Porsche museum
Day 4: Stuttgart > Zurich Switzerland.
Day 5: Zurich > Lake Maggiore in Italy through the Gotthard tunnel.
Day 6: Lake Maggiore > Milan > Gotthard Pass > Nufenen Pass > Furka Pass > Andermatt
Day 7: Andermatt > Davos > Flüela Pass > Stelvio pass in Italy > Davos Switzerland.
Day 8: Davos > Stuttgart
Day 9: Stuttgart > Kiel 860 Km streak with many portions of the autobahn with no speed limits.
Day 10: Kiel to Oslo with the ferry.

Here are some illustrated highlights from each day, sorry for the quality of the pictures, these are screen shoots from videos shot by a DJI action 4.

Day 1:
Ferry crossing from Oslo to Kiel is quite convenient, almost like mini cruise to avoid driving through Sweden and/or Denmark. The ferry leaves Oslo at 2pm and reaches Kiel Germany the next day at 10am.
The ferry staff were kind enough to guide us to a roomy and a nice spot while boarding the car deck. This ferry is quite busy during summer holidays with a lot of European tourists. The car deck is full of passengers going from their cars to their rooms with loads of bags, very easy to get paint scratches.

Day 2:

When driving through the German autobahn in July expect a lot of "stau" (traffic) especially around large cities.

But thanks to the super speedy charging capabilities of the generation 2 battery, reaching an amazing 317kW (out of the max 320Kw) even when getting close to 50% state of charge. We are able to reach our destination on time for the kids to enjoy the hotel pool.

Day3:

A Stop by the Porsche Museum is always a highlight when visiting Stuttgart. A quick lunch by the Boxenstopp bistro in the museum is convenient but the menu can be better.

Day 4 :

The Porsche charging Lounge is a nice and convenient alternative to the busy Ionity network during this holidays periode. Unfortunately there are only 5 of them across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France. The access is easy through the QR code in the App or the car license plate that is picked up by the camera at the gate. the Porsche Charging Card will give you access to the side of the lounge where you can enjoy drinks and have a pit stop if needed.

Day 5:

Crossing the 17Km Gotthard tunnel after 1,5 hour of standstill traffic. From the highway to the one way leading to the tunnel, the flow and traffic entering the tunnel is regulated by traffic lights to manage the number of cars and their spacing during this busy period..

Day 6 :

After a stop in Como we headed to the magic and twisty roads leading to the Gothard, Nufenen and Furka passes before reaching our hotel in Andermatt.

A must have shot next to hotel Belvedere, even if the car got dirty after we crossed through a cloudy mountain peak.

What's more fun - uphill or downhill ?

Day 7 :

A long day with a lot of twisty roads and breathtaking scenery.

That's all folks, happy to answer any comments or questions.
Brilliant thread. Just back from a 2500mile trip from the UK to Switzerland and Northern Italy (Maggiore). Copied a lot from this thread!! Marvellous drive thank you.

Took my Tesla though not the Taycan as it's hopelessly unreliable at charging (Flaky old J1.1 CT Turbo S).

Wonderful roads.
