Over summer vacation I took my daughter to PECATL for the young drivers thing and also I drove a 911 and Taycan Turbo S.

A few interesting notes:

- They sadly didn’t have the new Taycans yet,
- the young driver thing was pretty cool my daughter got to drive a 911,boater, Macan, Taycan in many scenarios.. expensive but she had fun and giving her some confidence in over and under steering scenarios was great.
—- she still isn’t allowed to drive my Taycan :) though.
- I killed the Taycan I was driving during one of my many failed attempts to drift , red circle which simply said pull over and get service (but the car was totally dead no movement and steering wheel was locked) luckily we shut it off, opened the door, closed door and waited a few and it started back up.
- the “museum” was underwhelming which was really a bummer because I was hoping to see a lot of different Porsches of various colors.

- a 911 is fun and had I never had an EV I would be tempted but now that I have had a Taycan and EV for me the Taycan was just as fun and more responsive. I am not a good enough driver to really notice massive weight differences.

It was the first time I drove on a track which was really fun, I will do that again. It turns out though I drive faster in town than on the track, I was too nervous I guess. Need to flip that around :).

Overall I will take my son and niece when they are old enough and while it is a tough cross to bear…I will also try out some car there again.

The timing worked well for our schedule but I guess was 2 months too soon for the new models to be there which is a bummer.

I took my son to PECLA and we drove all the 718 models and Taycan Turbo over 2 days. What a kick!

The Taycan was just as much fun to drive as the GT4 RS, but of course quieter ? Howver, the GT4 RS had more responsive braking, so I had to slow down a bit earlier in the Taycan.

Thanks for sharing about your experience at PECLA - it sounds like an amazing opportunity to test drive such an incredible selection of Porsches. I'm glad to hear the Taycan was just as enjoyable to throw around the track as the GT4 RS. It's interesting but not overly surprising that the GT4 RS had slightly sharper braking ability given its lighter weight and track-focused design. Still, the fact the Taycan could keep up so closely in the fun-to-drive department is really impressive.
