For US based folks.

My Taycan CT4S (financing) which is arriving in a couple of weeks.

It would be great to get peoples suggestions on Porsche (or recommended 3rd party) protection plans. I plan on getting the front of the vehicle ppfd and ceramic coated.

I don’t plan on getting winter wheels. I have configured it with the 20in wheels with all season tires (I hope my car arrives with Michelins!). I live in Michigan (Detroit burbs).

List of typical Porsche protection plans is in link below:

Um, none for me. PPF and ceramic can be good choices as they have a more tangible benefit for the expense. I like my car free of paint chips and I like that it’s easy to clean. So, those are good options if you value those things (I do).

But the options in the link are all basically insurance. So, I think it really comes down to your view on that.

For myself, insurance is more to cover catastrophic loss. Not to cover expenses I could otherwise cover myself.

But, if you feel differently or those options give you peace of mind, then go for it.

I got the wheel protection and glad I did. I curbed the two passenger side wheels. Repaired at no cost. Also a screw in a rear tire and replaced at no cost.

I added the Frontend PPF from Porsche on my 2022 Taycan and will likely pay to have a professional do a ceramic treatment.

I'm also considering the wheel protection plan. I'm not sure if I'll get anything else. My car isn't due until late March or early April (currently 04/01/2022). Delivery was recently moved up a week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I hoping on having the "dealer addon" discussion well ahead of delivery so I can have that irritation out of the way.

The F&I office is the #1 profit center in a U.S. car dealership, in part due to the insane markup on protection plans. Here are a couple of posts discussing alternative protection plans:
Regarding PPF and ceramic coat, note that some brands of PPF like STEK effectively incorporate ceramic coat into the film, and the manufacturer does not recommend ceramic coating the film.

Exactly how I feel. There is a reason they try and pop you on these expensive options in finance. They run very large margins for these companies. My step father was a CPA working at a Lexus dealership and basically said it was usually a huge waste of money with a very small percentage of consumers ever recouping their costs. They just sell you fear.

The tire and wheel protection in particular is a huge money maker for them. Porsche doesn't repair tires with a small nail through them, but those repairs are free at any decent tire place. If your tire needs full replacement, you would need to have damaged over half a dozen of them to ever recoup the cost. The amount of damage you would need to do to an actual wheel to replace it would be pretty insane, and you likely are filing another claim. Curbing a wheel or two is usually a couple hundred bucks to repair and Porsche will do everything they can to avoid replacement them. Honestly you have to be doing so pretty serious moron driving to do that much damage. Folks might get happy when they get a replacement tire on their warranty, but will never recoup the cost for the warranty in the first place.
