PSM and launch control

A question about launch control after searching here and reading the manual. I know that I don't need to shut off PSM to use launch control. My question for those who've done it is, does completely disabling PSM have any actual effect on the launch itself or the max HP, or does engaging LC in Sport/Sport+ drive mode handle everything without manually adjusting the PSM? I generally drive in Individual with the car set to Sport and it appears LC works under that situation as well, but I also don't know whether it's limited versus driving in full Sport or Sport+. I've engaged it once but didn't actually do the launch.
