I have a slow puncture caused by a screw some inconsiderate person left lying about. Inside rear, done 1800 miles and petrified to hand over not only my Taycan but my beautiful mission e wheels to a orangutang at a tyre fitting centre. I am happy to have the screw hole patched (which will save £600) so Porsche wont do it, has anyone any recommendations for a tire fitting service within 20 miles of Guildford, Surrey?

Plug it. I've done it on cars and motorcycles. Watch a couple of YouTube videos for tutorials. I drove cross county in my M5 on a plugged tire, no problems.

I felt exactly the same when I had a puncture due to a screw after just 600 miles last June. Luckily, middle of the tyre so was patched, seems similar to yours. If on the outer wall, it will need replacement.

Merityre locally to me (23 miles from you but there are good ones more locally which get good reviews) are considerate and much better than another national chain locally who may be Kwik but not careful in my experience. I told the repair guy to not scuff the alloys on pain of a lawsuit ?. All ended well…

That's not very nice. The orangutans are pretty clued up actually. ?

As a I pass by several time a week, I take mine to Tyre Smart at Witham and never a more helpful, professional bunch of people. Proper car enthisatists too. You know its a good sign when as soon as you pull up they ask if you put it into jack mode.. and offer to do it for you if you can't find it in the menus.

PS - I had a screw in my left front barely a few hundred miles after delivery. Unfortunately it was a whole new tyre as it was in the shoulder so not legal to repair. My guys had a matching Pirelli Zero the next day and wanted £100 less than the Porsche dealer, who could only book it in a week later.

It wasn’t on a Taycan but the best tyre repair service I have experienced in terms of care and shop setup was at Costco.

Thanks chaps, after much investigation I can’t recommend more highly the guys at Merityre in Leatherhead. They told me that they are well used to working on prestige cars and that morning had completed work on a Lamborghini Revuelto. Screw removed, hole plugged £30

£600? Even Porsche can't charge that for replacing a tyre? Can they?

Sounds too cheap if they were trying the old 'you need to replace both sides' cobblers!!

A little over a year ago, Porsche East London wanted £439.46 to supply and fit a single Pirelli 265/35 ZR21 P-Zero Elect (PZ4) 101Y XL NF0

As said I got the exact same tyre, fitted and balanced on Spyder rim for £314 the next day.
