Has anyone else ordered PRSE for their Taycan?

- Did you manage to connect to the Taycan's wifi and actually get any data to stream netflix, or did you end up just hotspotting to your phone?
- If you're plugging in a USB drive to play content - what media files will it play?

Thanks in advance

I don't have this option, but for the above to work, you will for sure have to subscribe to the monthly 7GB data plan in the Porsche Connect Store. Otherwise, I'd imagine hotspot from a phone is the approach most will take.

Optional (expensive) data package required.

I can connect to the in car WiFi hotspot. But the Netflix icon stays grayed out. No idea why.

I have it too, got the car mid December. You do need the data add on for it to work easily. The problem is the 7gb runs out quite easily, especially if other devices are being used on the network. At the point it runs out the car is offline apart from charger info in the nav until the data renews a month later, tomorrow in my case.

in the couple of days it was working we had it all functioning in terms of Netflix and so on but the number of idiotic problems I encountered were ridiculous. More to do with the wifI/data than the screens but even they need some updating for things like crosslink or web browsing, adding YouTube and other apps.

My final gripe is the lack of anywhere to store the headphones. My Cayenne had a simple clip that kept them neatly tucked away in the door. The only place we can find to store them in the Taycan is in the glovebox.

Basically there is a great RSE there but Porsche need to actually make it work and provide it with data. If they haven’t sorted it out in 3 months, my dialogue has been going since Dec 17, I will probably start going legal over misselling as I think it’s that badly thought through in its current guise and it might help make them take some action.

Thanks for the wi-fi feedback. Won't be paying for the data service, so will pre-download or use phone hot spot.

2nd Question - Have you all figured out how to mirror content to both screens at the same time?

You cant mirror to both at the same time from a single device. The USB is for power only, What i did to make the impact on my data a little lighter and a little easier to use is add a firestick to the HDMI port, with an OTG usb cable, with a USB-C to Micro USB to power the firestick, I can then add a USB stick to the firestick and play offline videos via Kodi.
Here's a list if anyone wants to do it
1- Firestick https://amzn.eu/d/cwtEE6t
2- OTG Cable https://amzn.eu/d/4yZl276
3- USB-C to Micro USB https://amzn.eu/d/96WDxbq
4- USB Stick https://amzn.eu/d/8VIF0AX (Needs to be formatted as FAT32)

It boots up in a few seconds, there is an app for the firestick that starts any app automatically called "Launch on Boot"

Alternatively, just buy 2 iPads.
