Hi guys. I have a 2023 Taycan GTS ST with 1000km. Yesterday when I got into the car, after not having driven it for a week, I turned it on and pulled of noticing a lot of resistance. I stopped and then tried moving forward again and the rear wheels were locked and screeching on the garage floor. Just as I was going to stop again there was a clunk and they released. This hasn't happened again, and the car is driving absolutely normally. I also never received any warning lights or messages on the dash. It almost felt like driving a normal car with the hand break on which then releases by itself if you forget to do it. Any ideas what this could have been?

Hi. Never heard of this before but it does sound like the rear brake calipers seized on as you say. One to keep an eye on id suggest as it may be a one off…

Pads possibly stuck to the discs - did you check to see if there were any tell-tale marks/ slightly rusty outlines on the surface of the discs?

Or possibly the e-park brake didn’t fully release. Haven’t had this in the Taycan, but have experienced it before on another car (Audi RS6) back in the day. It did however come up with a warning, and did release after a few repeated attempts.

Moisture on the discs which then corroded thereby bonding the brake pads to the discs.

Normal and happens on any car with standard iron discs particularly if you have the parking brake engaged.

Nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for the replys. Im in Switzerland and it was very wet before I flew out. That with the salt on the roads makes it ideal for corrosion.

Yes, had this happen to me. Big bang like sound trying to back out of the garage. I could see the inprint of the brake pad on the rotor afterwards. Talked to my SA who said nothing to worry about.

Very common occurrence, though haven’t had it in my Taycan yet.
