I have a 240 volt 50 amp line at home. I have been getting a lot of red lights during charging. Any tips on eliminating or reducing these red lights?

This happens to me when the charger comes a little out of the electrical socket in the wall. You want the plug in the socket 100% of the way.

FWIW, I also have a red light error, sporadically. I’ve tried with 2 different EVSE and I get the same issue. i usually charge on the driver side (which is where I have been consistently getting the error lately), but then tried on the passenger side and it works fine. I’ve booked an appointment for checking. Suggest you try the other side for now

I frequently get the red light error on my drivers side, but only occasionally on the passenger side - using my home EVSE.

If I Reboot the EVSE when I get a red light, it usually works OK then.

I assume it's some kind of issue with the EVSE.

It could be a minor leak to earth in one of the phases. What helps sometimes is to swap the phases. Because the leak can be on only one wire. The car typically tests leaks from neutral to earth. Not from the power line to earth.
So what you have to try is to swap the two power wires.

My tesla is sensitive to it, so if I go on holiday and I want to slow charge at the destination with a standard socket, I always bring something that I can put in between the cable to swap the wires.
