I am very close to buying a 2023 Base Taycan with the Tech Package that includes the Remote Parking Function. I test drove the car today and loved it, but the sales guy said the Remote Parking Function does not work in the US. I asked ChatGPT about that and it said only in NY and VT are there restrictions for remote parking, but California it should work if you are present outside the vehicle and are manually operating the remote park function.

Long story short...I have a very narrow single car garage in California and I am 6 foot 6 inches tall, so getting in and out of a taycan within a very narrow garage would be very challenging and the remote parking function would be ideal for me. Porsche guy in Carlsbad said it doesn't wrk, but ChatGPT says it does as long as you are present guiding it manually. Can anyone clarify this for me? It's kind of a make or break it issue and I would love to be a Taycan owner. Thanks for any insight!

The remote parking function is functional in the US, but it’s just trash. I tested it with our garage, which has plenty of room. Car stopped halfway when backing out of the garage, mirror was too close the the garage door frame. I was able to pull the car back in via the app. If I couldn’t both front doors would have been boxed in by the garage door frame. I’ve never messed with again.
ChatGPT is correct, you have to be standing by the car, it really isn’t remote.

I live in Palm Springs and can verify remote parking does work In California. I have the same issue of a narrow garage with two cars to park in it. however, it's not as slick as using the summon feature on a Tesla, although it's seemed to have gotten better with the last app update. occasionally the app won't connect to the car, and it does sometimes overcompensate for obstacles....although it's never ran in to anything. I do use it almost every day, I'm just more cautious with it than I was with the Tesla summon feature.
