Here is a solution to eliminate the squeak noise when accelerating or pressing your back against the driver's seat. Many of you mentioned that, in the lowest position, if the noise occurs, you only have to raise the seat and return to the initial position.
Yes, it worked for me for some time (50,000 Mi), but now I have to raise the seat every 5 minutes, which is no longer sustainable.

Porsche is also issuing TSB 2227 to fix it, but it only addresses the back seat cover, which is another issue.

Before starting the fix, please do you a favor and buy some E-Torx, the #12 is the size, and they all cost $10. Without it, you will end up stripping the screws, and you do not want that.

  • Set the seat to the highest position
  • Remove the 4 plastics rail covers 2 on the front, 2 on the back. Take pictures as they are all different and can be challenging to put the right ones in the right places
  • Unscrew the 4 bolts by moving the seat from the back to the front to access them
  • Incline the cover to make sure it is a 90 degrees with the bottom
  • Raise the front to access the connector. The seat is set at 45 Degrees from the floor
  • Pull the black plastic part located on the yellow connector, remove the small connector, and pull the big one. See arrows below

Once the connector is disconnected, move the seat from the back door. It is better with two persons, one pulling and one inside to make sure you are not scratching anything with the metal rail. The seat is a bit heavy.

Put the seat upside down on a chair so that you can access the underside of it. The squeaking is coming from the pivots to raise the seat, and they need a bit of oil. I used 3-in-1 oil. I believe grease may be better, but I did not want to do it before making sure the oil was going to fix it.

Apply one drop of oil on each pivot.

Replace the seat on position with two persons, one inside to drive and one outside. At that point, it is very easy to touch the back seat leather and to scratch it.

Place the two pins from the rails into the hole for alignment. Place all the 4 screws and tighten them by 3-4 turns. Once the screws are all placed, please tighten them all. Replace the plastic cover.

The noise is now gone, and it has been 2 weeks.

Warning. Here is the problem. Even though I did not turn on the ignition while the seat was out, I received a nice yellow warning. Please visit the dealer, as there are airbag problems. Great!! Shutdown and restart many times with the same error message.
I connected the MapEV diag program and read the messages:

- Driver thorax airbag igniter
- Driver seat belt switch
- Seat position sensor, driver side

I cleared all the DTCs code. The message is gone.
I recommend disconnecting the 12V battery before starting to dismount the seat.

Yes, great thread. My car has that squeak/creak and happens to be into Porsche centre tomorrow for other things. I’ve added it to the list of issues. Wondering if this type of thing is covered by its extended warranty.

It is not. "Noises" are expressly excluded.

@lcarron Thanks for sharing. But now that you are done with this ordeal and actually know what it is all about, seriously, is there no way to grease/reach those pivots without taking the car apart? If it is only a matter of one or two drops of oil, I imagine an unfolded wire coat hanger might reach, no? And if that is tricky because I am flying blind, then a cheap endoscope should perhaps help? (In fact, my endoscope has some grabbing attachments that will happily carry a drop of oil.)

Ok, so the pivots are exposed, merely awkward to reach. I try the endoscope. Thanks.

@lcarron massive thank you for this guide! Had this issue with the front passenger seat on my CT 2022 which the dealership wasn't able to solve (they did fix the backrest issue per TSB 2227).

I was able to apply Sonax silicone spray without removing the seat - though it required a lot of patience to get the nozzle exactly at the right spot. Now the sound is completely gone!

I just went through this same thing on my 2021 4S CT. I used a silicone spray similar to the Sonax. however, the exposed metal points that the OP posted were not the culprit, as far as I could see. I blindly sprayed some lubricant under the plastic seatback pivot mold, and that seems to have cleared it, for now. Thanks for this thread.
