Using Edmund’s latest numbers, 2022 Taycan GTS 36mo./10k

MF: 0.0021
Residual: 52%
MRM: 157k

My GTS is right around 157k (MSRP, no discount) so I plugged in the numbers and got $2,370/mo + tax in California, no cap reduction and 7500 credit.
The $7500 tax credit will be a cap reduction for a lease. Also $750 POS reduction in California is very likely from the dealer

If you can find a dealer/leasing company that will actually match the Edmund's forum money factor for a Taycan, good on you.

During Aug - Dec 2021, I never did, and from the info on actual money factors for Taycans shared in this forum by people leasing, others never did either. No reason not to check what the guy in Edmund's lease forum says about Taycan money factors, but don't bet your budget on it.

What is the incentive for PFS or other leasing companies to minimize the money factor on a car for which dealers fight for allocations?

I was just quoted for a 2022 turbo S a 36 months 10,000 miles a year a residual of 44%. How is that possible? Money factor was high but marked up to .003 so even with the $7500 cap cost reduction. the lease was close to 4k/month including tax.

Seems crazy. The mf I can negotiate but the residual was shockingly low and I know these are set by the factory so why so low?!?

It will be interesting to see what the depreciation will be for the Taycan over the next few years. With the production low and demand high it seems using a bank loan may be more favorable in terms of total cost for the next few years.

Because then you'll have $30,000-50,000 deposit to put down on a new Porsche based on the actual trade in value, which will be significantly higher than the residual you have been quoted.

They are not stupid.

They want your economic balls in their handbag.

They want repeat business from you and they will get it, not least in your elation at such a "high" valuation when it comes to trade in, when from day one, they had suggested psychologically that the price would be much lower.

You are then far more agreeable and likely to buy something new.

You can also choose lower miles such as 2500 and 5000 mile leases too. I generally haven't driven a lot for work but with COVID that may be the new norm for others. Lower lease miles = better residual. I chose 5000 miles with a 55% residual on my CT4. Money factor was 0.0027 and wasn't going to be negotiated down by the dealer.

Only way a Taycan lease makes sense IMO is to get a huge discount. Other than that, it's really expensive.

A Turbo was 46% RV, RS E-Tron GT is 58%, about the same MF.

Porche clearly doesn't want the lease on their books and it didn't look like the even have to

Is there anything from Porsche that is not "really expensive"?
Configurator: Taycan Turbo S, from $185,000.
You: Hey, Mr. Dealer, give me a break on lease on Turbo S or I will:
--go to all the other Porsche dealerships in my city
--finance
--pay cash
--buy a Taycan equivalent from all the other auto manufacturers.

Mr. Dealer: -to himself- Sure you will.

190 Porsche dealers in the USA, EQS is out, very nice interior but questionable exterior.
