Had two bad experiences at Porsche Retail Group dealerships in London - you would think the Porsche-owned dealers strive for higher standards, but unfortunately had the completely opposite experience. Questionable upselling tactics, borderline rude staff etc.
Right ? I have been a loyal amg customer for the last decade and always get top notch service at all dealerships - this is my first porche and was expecting the same but first time out not the case. But I reserve it could have been the location , the advisor , or the day and time - I’m sure many here have had great experiences too.

I have never seen that before.

Totally frustrating to think a software update can lead to more issues than it was intended to fix.

Looks like the software boot sequence has been interrupted leading to incomplete displays.

Random thought - have you tried using the secondary Porsche ID and keys (after locking with your primary set and leaving for 30 mins or so) - this 'method' has by chance or otherwise cleared other gremlins and probably worth a shot?

I'm guessing you've also left the car powered off and locked for a period before powering up to check?
Us OG 2020 drivers hd an update that tried to kill us so yea I guess this is an improvement that it just sucks.

Hey all -

sorry there are probably 5000x topics on this already , but my search is bringing up a ton of not relevant results - I’ll make it short then.

took my car in for 20k service and software update - had a pretty bad experience with a rude advisor - my icons are not color and it’s a 2021 model .
She insisted it had the new software and didn’t need the update , they kept my car for 5 days to do a 20k and denied update.

hiw can I verify the version ? When I Goto system and Verizon in pcn it says 3.1.14 ?

i feel like they were trying to get me to leave , said they were doing booking 6 months out ?
I just picked up my 2020 (yes 2020) Taycan 4s from the shop today after they performed a number of software updates and other recalls. I was pleasantly surprised when I started the car to have the latest version of PCM including Android Auto (something I was told would not be retrofitted to the 2020 cars). Screenshot of the dash and software version details

I had the update done as well and all good first day. Then the car said it was doing an OTA update and now I cannot charge it. The profile/timers are all blank and I cannot even add new ones. Its with Porsche now but has anyone else had this issue post the update? Its annoying as the car has been perfect for the last 2 years!

Even the console shows odd things - like range but without % of charge etc..

Yes exactly what happened to me. Eventually disconnecting and reconnecting the 12 V battery removed that issue, but the car which also was perfect for the last 2 years now reports much lower range and only 5/5 options in the instrument cluster as if it thinks it is a RWD rather than 4S. very frustrating

Apparently Porsche Germany said that the power control unit (hardware) needed to have a hard-reset and that's now fixed things. My range currently looks ok but I will keep an eye on it.

I charged to 85% last night and its now showing 85% with 229 miles range - so seems ok.

What do you mean 5/5 options in the instrument cluster?

The instrument cluster has 3 different areas in the screen infant of the driver, these can be configured to show a range of information such as tyre pressure and where the motors are delivering power. These can vary in terms of the number depending on the hardware in the care and any options purchaed. Mine used to have probably 7 or 8 options, now it displays 5 only. If you go to settings, display and instrument cluster you will see them. My car is 4 wheel drive 4S and used to have the option of displaying all well drive info. This has now disappeared

I think that is just part of the AMB update. The all wheel information is now in the central console - not the drivers display anymore.

RWD vs AWD - display has moved to the central display (as per uPdate press release). Click 'Trip' and you'll get an animated power / drive display.

Example below is for RWD.

Interesting, I have an appointment on Thursday with my dealer to swap winter tires onto the car, and they mentioned that there was a software update that they could apply that would take about a day to perform, but I'd probably need to return on a different day so they could give me a loaner.

What's odd though is that I have a GTS ST that was delivered at the end of June, and I have PCM version 3793 (colored icons since delivery and everything). Could they be talking about a different update that needs to be installed, or do you think they're just mistakenly thinking that if they weren't the ones to install the update that it probably needs the update?

I asked them for more details on what sort of updates they needed to apply and mentioned that I'd be happy to setup something after the holidays if needed (really don't want to have brand new software on a car during a big road trip). I'm sure I'll find out more on Thursday, but if anyone has had similar experiences worth sharing.

Sounds like a possible mix-up. That said, if you've not participated in the uPdate campaign then there may be some smaller software patches to be applied for MY23.
