I got flashed on the M25 the other week as they had a reduced speed sign to 40 and i was doing about 44. My fault as i try and avoid brakes and use regen, not got any ticket in the post (yet) so fingers crossed. Should have had waze on!
Got pinged over the A14 Orwell Bridge last year. Average 60 zone camera on the approach, then variable electronic limit over the bridge which I don’t think I’ve ever seen change in the 4 years it’s been there, except for one dark night when they notched it back to 50….

Speed awareness course for yours truly.

You do realise the main regeneration in a Taycan is via the brake pedal don't you?

Above about 5 mph and up to pretty high deceleration pressing the brake pedal decelerates the car by regeneration - the green bar on the power curve.

The regen settings on the dash (ie what happens when you lift off) are for how the car feels when you lift off the throttle - choices for driving preference only, not appreciable regeneration, and the best efficiency is to leave it "off" and regenerate with brake pedal only.

Don't worry about using the brake pedal to get down to a speed limit the regeneration will be more than any lift-off setting.

Yes of course i understand this but it’s always better to try and let the car slow down on it’s own - i try and limit the use of brakes when possible to make them last as long as possible.

Hitting the regen on button is slower to stop the car but does have an impact. It’s just a driving style i guess and not everyone drives the same way.

Yes but using the brake pedal doesn't use the brake pads at all above 5mph or in emergency braking so you won't wear them at all by pressing the pedal, all the deceleration is generated by using the motors as generators and recharging the battery in a way controlled by your use of the brake pedal. It is one of the most compelling and impressive parts of the engineering of a Taycan IMHO and one of the ways that distinguishes the car from some others who don't do it.

The so-called regen setting on the dash is feel, not substantial recharging the battery.

Like i said it’s just my driving style for me it’s easier to hit the button than to use my foot !

Anyone tried Saphe?

A friend was singing it's praises, so i have one on the way in the post.

A compliment (belt and braces) to waze maybe and it's only £60. I guess it might be more useful in my car w/o wireless CarPlay/doesn't automatically hook up to waze.
I had the Road Angel in my X5 until BMW started to offer speed camera alerts in the HUD for £20pa. I now use Waze or TomTom Go ( now called Amigo) in the Taycan via Android Auto. I use the Porsche Nav and just have one of the apps running in the background so it gives me voice alerts over the Bose speakers. Slight preference for Amigo as it tells you your average speed in average speed zones.

I notice speed cameras are usually obviously signed in England but many are not and are well hidden in Wales.
I guess either the law or the Police opinion differs between the 2 countries.
I used to have a holiday home in Abersoch and we travelled over there about every 2 to 3 weeks for 5 years.

It was strange in that the local rag used to list times and places for the speed camera vans for the coming week.

Unsurprisingly, none of the locals used to get caught, but all the tourists did.
