Before I got my Taycan I had a hard time: do I need SportChrono or not. Because I don't like this clock reflecting in windscreen. But I did not get clear information what in detail is included in SportChrono and what not. I knew it from the 991 but the Taycan is different. While doing test-drives all cars have been equipped with SportChrono.
So what, I did not order it.

What you still get when you don't have SportChrono:
Launch Control (what is nice because i.e. at the 991 you only get LC if you have SportChrono)
Even more impressive: you get SportPlus for your chassis adjustment.
Bye the way: chassis adjustment are stored and "survive" a car restart.

The two significant features of Sport Chrono are
  1. Custom Setting to save configurable Drive Mode settings
  2. Using Sport+ setting will perform high voltage battery conditioning for both performance and faster charging. This is also done on any car when routing Tina DCFC as long as you can convince the car that is the plan.

I left it out as you still perform launch control without it.

The sports sound is apparently a bit different between sports and sports+ mode which is a bit strange as you pay for sports sound but it's not "quite as good" if you don't have sports chrono/Sports+ mode
