Steering wheel swap

I was curious if i can buy a fully assembled steering wheel from another tycan with the mode switcher and replace my steering wheel on 2020 turbo non sport chrono, i dont care about the sport + or watch functions, i just want the switcher to work to change between modes quickly, anyone know if i have to do any custom wiring or if it will be plug and play, i’m seeing entire steering wheel assemblies on ebay from turbo s and turbo models .

I can confirm that it works. I bought a used assembled steering wheel from eBay. I looked for one that was heated since my old was heated. Now I use the knob to switch modes. You still won’t get Sport+ mode.

Installation was plug and play. I did get an error code that can be cleared at the dealer but I cleared it myself with a Bluetooth obd scanner I got from Amazon.

I then paired it with Car Scanner ELM OBD2 from the App Store. I didn’t need to get the pro version to clear the code.

Do you remember what type of error was it??

It was an airbag error.

To avoid the air bag error, you need to disconnect the 12 volt battery before starting.
