I am considering a move and recently took the delivery of my Taycan 4S - advance spec’d with PPF and ceramic. I’ve had it for a month and it has around 400 miles on it. I’m considering my options. Should I sell ? And if so, best way to go about selling.

Given 1000 of them destined for the US just went up in smoke, i'd ask a for a premium, however, you do it!

The challenge with selling a used very low mile EV is that the various tax credits and state/local government incentives aren’t available to the used buyer. The absence of incentives impacts the value and you basically can subtract that amount off of the top of the car as a starting point for a used sale. You also just put a few grand into ceramic and PPF, which unfortunately, adds no value to the car. In short, if you decided to sell, you’re going to be taking something of a bath here and those 400 miles were very expensive.

Porsche dealers are eager for inventory. You’re likely to find a dealer willing to buy the car from you. Understand, you will take a further bath than you would doing a private sale., because the offer that the Porsche dealer makes is going to build in some margin for CPO’ing and reselling the car. It is the easiest route and one that wasn’t necessarily available in the past.

Private sale? I’m less comfortable in this age of scammers to transact a six figure car with some rando.

In the end, it comes down to why you’re selling the car.

You mentioned “move” which can mean a lot of things. You can always ship the car across country if you don’t want to road trip it. Not a big deal.

If you’re selling it, because you won’t be able charge at home and realized that owning an EV is massively inconvenient if you can’t charge up every night, then I’d go back to the dealer where you bought it from, own up to your reality, and negotiate a trade for some other car that they have inventory. Again, they won’t complain about a Taycan in inventory for some instant gratification buyer.

If you’re selling it, because you really can’t afford it and need the money. The dealer buy scenario is the fastest way to get it done. Vroom, CarMax are also options that work this way. Carvana doesn’t typically play in the six figure car space. Yes, you’re going to lose some money here, but you’ll stop the bleeding.

If neither of the options are a factor, this is not the moment in time where I would choose to sell an EV. The war will have a significant impact on gas prices. BEV, PHEV, and hybrid demand is only going to increase in this environment. If you’re in no rush, hold onto it for a few more months, get some miles and value out of it, and then sell it. You’ll probably do significantly better in that scenario.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
