I think this has gone off track a bit. This wasn’t new vs new it was a new 4S vs a used turbo S. So practically the same price there is no 50k difference on this comparison. For the same price, if the turbo S has a CPO it makes no sense to get the 4S. Even if the 4S has a couple options the turbo doesn’t just wait and find one that does. You will loose more money on the new 4S then a used Turbo S. New vs new I agree the 4S makes a ton of sense.

If money is the only consideration the used car will depreciate less.

If specification is important and your taste is as unusual as mine you will almost certainly struggle to find a used car with the specification you want.

I very much did not want a glass roof, black interior or monochrome paintwork. Any of those were a no-no. I was keen to have comfort massage seats too.

That ruled out almost all used cars for me so I got a CT4S exactly as I wanted it - or almost, I dropped racetex B-pillar and Bose which were unavailable/long delay when my order was frozen but fount the loss acceptable.
