If you are at all interested in Lane Keeping Assist or Innodrive down the road, you might want to think about adding ACC to the build.

Night Vision Assist was really the only thing I wanted but couldn’t get “off the rack”. :(
My build does have both NVA and Innodrive. Having driven Tesla’s for many years now I am spoilt with their “autopilot”

I assume Porsche main line will make it right assuming that’s is the dealer. I’ve worked with them in two 911s in the last 2 years and they are pretty customer centric so I’m sure they will make it right. Feel free to pM them as I can give you some insight on their lead folks.

My suggestion is to delete this thread and hire a lawyer. The dealership will end up paying for the lawyer and it will make the process much simpler for you. If the dealership is cool it'll only cost them a couple grand or so for a single phone call with the lawyer. If they aren't cool having the lawyer will completely save you before you say something you shouldn't have.

They have insurance for this that includes paying out to lawyers. The insurance will attempt to screw you if you don't have a lawyer, period. It doesn't matter if your SA is amazing, the insurance company makes the final call.

As an aside, if I'm a car thief, seems like a Taycan is that last car I'd want to steal. Seems like I'd want to go for something understated like a Honda Accord where I can strip the parts and sell them.
You'd have to steal a whole bunch of those to match the money you could make from a single Taycan stripped for parts.

FWIW, I'm one of those people who keeps privacy mode permanently on since I don't use the Connect app. I vaguely remember that when I enabled it, there was disclaimer indicating that, privacy mode or not, Porsche is still able to track the vehicle's location. Kind of defeats the purpose of "privacy mode" of course, but I remember reading about that on this site too. It's intriguing that they claim to be unable to track the location.
I would not be so sure. I know nothing of how Porsche implemented it, but I design things like this and it is absolutely possible to implement privacy mode in a way where it cannot be tracked. You can even have devices receive OTA updates but not be trackable. GDPR in Europe carries heavy penalties, so every company selling there does GDPR reviews of their designs to ensure things like this - if customer says do not track, you cannot track. On the other hand, perhaps there should be a dealer mode where the car is not trackable by the customer, but trackable by Porsche.
