I’ve recently had a stone hit on the lower part of my windscreen.
There is no detectable surface damage but the hit must have affected an inside glass layer and caused some visible ‘discolouration’ (loss of vacuum?) – see pics
The damage is out of sight from the cabin and can only be seen from outside.
I have "Option VW6: Thermally and acoustically insulated laminated glass, top-tinted windscreen, privacy glass at the rear", on the vehicle.
Thanks in advance.

- Can this ‘damage’ be repaired without replacing the screen? – i.e. a smart repair?
- My motor insurance species windscreen repairs by Autoglass – could they technically handle such a repair?
- Would it be better to get my local Porsche dealership to carry out a repair?
- I’m aware that a new screen is pretty expensive (£2000+?) given its specialist design and construction.
- Im reluctant to let anyone loose on this until I've researched or taken advice.
Thanks in advance.
