I’m a BMW fan since the last 20years and have 4 different kinds of them. But, believe BMW missed the electrification journey. Anyhow, after contemplating for months on Tesla vs Taycan I decided to order the Taycan. Placed the order with North Houston Porsche dealer who came highly recommended by a close friend. This was March 23rd and started started tracking the Taycan through production and shipping. Decided to have it delivered to Atlanta PEC. Seems like everything was going great and the excitement was building. We planned a road trip with our kids from PEC- Atlanta to Houston and we’re ready to hop on the plane ( one way ticket) to Atlanta. Get a call from dealer with bad news 30mins before flight ( July 7th 2021) that the Taycan cannot be delivered due to the recall. Can’t understand why the dealer or PEC did not call a few weeks ago when this was known to them. Now PEC is blaming dealer and dealer is blaming PEC. Not a great first impression with Porsche.
We decided to have the new car delivery experience but I’m in 2 minds whether I should head back to BMW M3 ( which I was planning to get before I decided to go electric).
Hopefully when I receive the Taycan all this will be behind us. I know Porsche did the correct thing by not handing over the Taycan with a known issue. But, has left a bad taste now…
