You are in the UK but watching too many Americans on YouTube :)

This nonesense about adaptors is entirely a North America problem.

In Europe you use a Type 2 cable, the same as you use to connect to an AC charger at home. It is a robust standard and there are very few interoperability problems.

In any case Tesla destination chargers have a tethered Type 2 cable so you don't need to bring anything, just plug it in to either of your Taycan's ports.

Tesla Destination Chargers can be configured two ways though: Originally they were supplied in pairs, with one set up only to charge Teslas and the others open to all. And over recent years the Destination Charger programme has decayed significantly as site owners began to seek recompense for charging (originally it was free, to attract people to upmarket hotels etc). So some places turn it off at a master switch until you pay reception; others have let the Tesla charger die without updating the map and are installing PodPoint or other alternatives which bring them revenue. Always best to phone them first (if you can find someone at reception who has any clue about EVs).
thanks for the very clear explanation and you are right on.

just arrived in the South Downs (in the UK 2 hrs south of London) and the three Telsa Destintion charges all had type 2 connectors so plugs in no worries. They said one only works with Teslas and the other two on any EV. But they didn’t work and the pub manager said they are looking to swap them out at some stage.

sorry if I confused the whole messy situation in the US with plugs vs UK which is super simple with either type 2 for AC and CCS for fast DC charging.
