The Case For The GTS

I’m getting a Rwd, but am thinking about waiting for the GTS; which they are almost assuredly going to debut before the end of the year. The rear wheel drive is a much more nimble and interesting car to drive, but it’s lacking low end power; if the GTS has the rear motor component from the turbo, it will be a really special car. And if it’s in the $130k range it will be the sweet spot between 4S and Turbo.

Highly doubt you will see a RWD GTS. Turbo rear motor is 450hp I believe. I wouldn't expect a GTS to have less power than a 4S...

My bet is the GTS variant will be AWD only, with Turbo rear motor tuned down a bit.

Unlikely to have a single motor I'd say and will slot between 4S and Turbo (normally). There is a separate GTS thread on the forum.

Not sure if Porsche will drop the Turbo - new 3rd gen Macan has a GTS (no Turbo) which is odd given it had a Turbo at launch (I had one) - as it is a busy segment to differentiate.

All recent GTS models (apart from the Boxster / 718) have been 4-WD / A-WD - so I reckon not ;-)

Semantics - EV with 2 motors = All Wheel Drive (Axle to be specific) so in the case of the Taycan it will transfer that a GTS is also AWD.

GTS is very predictable IMO. Turbo drive train detuned, wheels in black, sport chrono, GTS specific interior, sport deisgn pkg etc all standard... same old GTS formula, rinse and repeat. And it will be great.

Except that the 911 GTS is rwd and awd.

We'll if we have to get into the weeds of the variants then you are absolutely correct - the 911 gave us a choice.
