TSB: Surround View Camera Intermittent Operation - March 22, 2024

Condition
The customer complains of intermittent operation for one or multiple surround view cameras that appear blank with a crossed-out camera icon for each failed camera.

Never had this on the Taycan yet... Did have it on a 992GTS loaner recently.

Mine has this problem. Start the car; all parking cameras work. I get to work, try to park, cameras dead (all or front and side cameras, rear one does work from time to time). Not to mention that radio mutes sound and Porsche sport sound. Navigation preview moves 500km away from actual location, bluetooth failiures, faulty exterior trunk button (replaced 3 times in 3 months). Driver side 22kw charging port started to show signs of failing too now. I have to plug the car 3-4 times to get sucessful connection.

I have had the same problem 2 to 3 times over the last two years. The cameras typically sort themselves out after a few days and I think this is a water ingress issue.

I most recently had this problem about 2 to 3 weeks ago and took some video as well as pictures. When I took it to the dealership, they said that they could not find any error codes stored in the PCM and they would not replace The wiring harness despite video and photo documentation of the same. I pointed out the TSB to them as well.

They want to replicate the problem themselves. Unfortunately, they’re always booked out, and I cannot get in for several weeks. The problem self resolves by the time of service visit and the PCM probably clears of the codes.

apart from reaching out to PCNA, what are my options here? I raised a little stink with the dealership service manager today (Porsche Orlando) and they asked me to bring the car back in today for another evaluation.

They swapped the cameras and looms on mine. Hasn’t happened again.
