On my trip today suddenly the instrumentcluster went all weird. Like an ‘80’s computerscreen… 😳
Other than that luckily everything was in perfect working order. (In fear of more errors I immediately moved to the rightmost lane to be close to the emergency lane, found out it wasn’t necessary )

After turning the car off and on the cluster was fine again.

probably a coincidence: I had for once PID activated, this screenthing happened maybe 1-2 minutes after I turned on PID.

Very odd to see. Any ideas on the cause?

Wow, never seen this before. Did you try the two-finger reset? My uneducated guess is that it's either a temporary glitch or somewhere a wire seems to be a bit loose. I noticed the outside temp, so probably isn't an overheating thing.

Never did the two finger reset yet. Isn’t that for the center screen when that freezes?

Yeah, but it is also used as a trick to restart the PCM computers. Hold two fingers in the right corner of the PCM middle screen, and it will boot in maintenance mode. There, you have a quit button, and it will trigger the restart.

There is a TSB for the middle screen having these symptoms, and from what I remember, it indicates a failing display due to heat.

Haven’t seen it for the cluster, but it could be similar
