I’m just not a fan of this argument and arguments of the type that you can’t use more HP or performance on the street in everyday use and that the base Taycan is more than enough HP for daily. Really, 200 hp is more than enough for a daily, why drive a 400+ hp car at all?
That makes zero sense. You're basically saying that the amount of usable power in a street environment is undefinable and lies somewhere between 'will move the vehicle at the minimum speed limit' and 'will accelerate the car 4x faster than the average passenger car on the road and do 250mph flat out'. The truth is that there is a use for more than 200hp on the street, as that level of acceleration isn't very fun or spirited, particularly given how heavy cars have become over the years, and it is well below the point where safety becomes an issue. Conversely, over about 5-600hp (depending upon weight of the vehicle) will be pretty much useless, as using every bit of it will put the safety of innocent people at significantly elevated risk in 99% of the road situations, not to mention eventually get your car impounded.

Have you ever owned a 650+ hp car?

I actually owned an over 800 hp V8 before my Taycan. I know what can safely be used on streets and what to not use very well. I daily drove that car and had over 100,000 miles on it when I sold it. Lots of drag strip and track experience With it and other different vehicles.

I mentioned NOTHING of weight in my comments and was merely speaking of HP and what is needed to get around. Most cars weigh FAR FAR less than this car and why my argument was merely for horsepower. How much does a Camry weigh? A Maxima? These are the cars i mentioned in my comment. Those cars have on the top end about 300hp and having actually owned one, it is quite speedy and more than enough HP for everyday use, given their size and weight if you want to mention it. I’ve also driven lighter cars with 200 hp and they can also be MORE than enough for every day use. There’s nothing wrong with wanting more. That limit has not been defined by law as far as pure HP number.

for the high end HP cars, that is entirely up to the user. If there is enough demand,, someone will likely come up to supply and meet that demand. If you read my comment, I said it’s totally ok to want more hp as there are cars that are street legal with more than 1,000 hp. Super cars like the Veyron or Chiron. Both well north of 1000 hp and both street legal, even if they are out of prices range of all but a lucky few. So as i said, yes, it is TOTALLY ok for someone to ask for more power. It’s ok for Porsche to sell them a car that can do more. It’s not up to Porsche to be responsible for how anyone uses any of their cars hp, they sell the car and make sure it is capable of being an excellent performing machine, bc it’s what they do. They are not in the business of ensuring people can be up to the cars. That said, it would be nice if they provided (either free or at a cost) training for high performance vehicles. Their track experiences are pretty good but maybe a bit more could be offered.

If you dont want more power, THAT is fine too and why it’s nice Porsche offers different levels. You do what suits you, OP and anyone else who wants more can ask and if Porsche provides, they can feel free to buy.

indeed there is a distinct "cell voltage sum" diagnostic value I'm logging. Did not realize they divert too much. Will have a look.
800V feeds the motors and DC-DC converter, which in turn steps is down to 400V for HVAC, 12V for the 12V battery and systems, and 48V for PDCC (if the car is equipped with it).
