Geico in California is claiming they do not provide coverage for PPF and ceramic coating on their policies and the max they provide is $1000.- for any aftermarket accessories including PPF. They said, we will require a separate insurance provider for PPF coverage. Which insurance coverage do members here use for covering PPF and ceramic coating costs? e.g., if you car gets into a collision and PPF/Ceramic needs to be re-applied on the repaired/replaced body panels? Thanks!

Why would you want to pay for insurance for that, which is a relatively low price to install?

I know this is a Porsche forum but full body PPF + Ceramic costs $5-$7K. That's not exactly low price in my book ;)

A brief look online seems to indicate that some auto insurance policies include PPF and ceramic coating, similar to body paint, or accessories. No idea whether someone can buy separate coverage only for that. Good luck.

If someone has personal experience with a policy which does cover PPF and ceramic, I would love to know which provider and their experience with them. Thanks!

USAA paid for PPF replacement about 15 months ago when it was damaged along with a door scrape from road debris.

My auto policy will cover up to $5000 of physical damage to "custom equipment", which it defines as
... paint or murals, equipment, furnishings, and parts permanently installed on your covered auto other than:
- Original manufacturer paint, equipment, furnishings, or parts;
-Any replacement of original manufacturer paint, equipment, furnishings or parts with other paint, equipment, furnishings or parts of like kind and quantity;
-Equipment, furnishings or parts designed to assist persons with disabilities;
-Anti-theft devices and devices intended to monitor or record driving activity; and
-Tires of a substantially similar sized as those installed by the manufacturer.

I'd assume that PPF and ceramic treatment are included as custom equipment.

Which auto insurance do you use?
