Hey folks

I’m pretty much sold on Taycan Cross Turismo but with all the recall news I have been wondering if it’s worth waiting another year before buying this marvel.

Any idea when we will see major changes in Taycan? i.e. MY23?

Should I wait or buy now?

Also, another concern I have is the battery. Any idea how long the battery will stay good for? I plan to hold this car for many years.

Most manufacturers do a facelift/refresh around the 4th or 5th model year. My guess is we'll see a refresh for the 2024 MY. To be honest, I'm not expecting anything earth shattering in terms of performance/range/charging improvements until solid state batteries become a thing.

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I was thinking there may be big changes next 5 years but it doesn’t seem like from battery perspective anything major will happen.

And all the software updates will get pushed to all Taycan’s right?

Based on what I've read, that seems to be Porsche's intention. At some point, i'm sure there will be various hardware changes that will prevent certain new features from being backward compatible. Take a look at some Tesla forums for various examples of that.

- Macan introduced in 2015, facelifted in 2019 (minor cosmetic change and new engines)
- Original Panamera introduced in 2010, facelifted in 2014 (minor cosmetic and little more powerful engines, bigger turbos etc)
- Current Panamera introduced in 2017, facelifted in 2021 (minor cosmetic and some engine and hybrid powertrain changes)

So it looks like Porsche facelifts a model after 4 years, that would be 2024 for Taycan. Cosmetic are typically minor (like new lights or taillights) but powertrain changes might be non-trivial. For the Taycan it might mean new battery and/or new motors. However the specs are unlikely to be too improved. I would expect maybe +10-20 Horsepower for each model and/or +10-30 miles of range.
