Why is the passenger lumbar adjusting itself on every start?

I have the 18way seats. Not sure what this is about but my passenger seat insists on adjusting its lumbar on each start, with or without an actual passenger sittting in it. All adjustments work fine and can be saved/restored. I’ve turned off comfort entry as I don’t like the idea of things sliding around each time I want to get in/out the car.

is anyone else experiencing the same?

Was about to suggest it will be the comfort entry but if you have this off then perhaps not. Normally it only covers the driver's settings too.

Out of curiosity why have comfort entry if you don't take advantage of it - makes ingress and egress to the car easier?

Yeah, I thought it may be related to the comfort entry somehow. Maybe another software bug? At the moment, the driver side doesn't auto adjust at all (as expected since the comfort entry is off), but the passenger lumbar does. It is just the lumbar too - the seat doesn't adjust in any other way.

I didn't choose comfort entry as an option in the car - it just came with it. Surely as part of some other package, much in the same way I have the folding mirrors, satellite radio, portable charger, sports chrono clock, etc. There are many options bundled in the car which I have no intention of ever using.

The reason I have it off is that I don't trust mechanical parts in the interior to last long if they are cycled daily. It's the same reason why I turn off the automatic mirror folding. I also feel better when my car is ready to go as soon as I sit down.

We have this option in the X7 and I'm not a fan - it never comes back to the same position and I have to press my individual setting button to restore my setting anyway. More of an annoyance than convenience

Sounds like the car is wired for rhd rather than LHD if the driver's seat doesn't adjust. This could be a PDI issue that your dealer can address.

Understand your concerns re comfort settings in general but in my experience on Porsches it has always been faultless and works precisely to spec. My Boxster (now 9 years old) has never missed a beat with this option and the Taycan the same.

Auto folding mirrors I find really useful as it is a clear indication on the Taycan that the doors are locked (retracted door handles aren't a guarantee unfortunately).

I have the same issue here, except it's with the drivers seat back bolsters (18-way). It did not always do it, but recently out of the blue, I can hear and feel the bolsters adjusting each time I get in the car. Always had the steering and seat comfort feature turned off. Tried resetting my memory seat position but no luck.

A very minor annoyance but one I wish I could get to the bottom of.
