Yet another charging query......................

......and when Octopus IG is working right, it starts charging straight away when you plug in and then stops shortly afterwards once enodes are set.

It then re-commences overnight.

But it is all charged at the cheap rate.

Sometimes if there is plenty of cheap electricity about (sunny days) it may charge during the day.

Good system - just never worked for my Taycan.

Thanks Ian. It does indeed set a timer but it seems to charge non stop as soon as I plug in. I plugged in this afternoon and it started charging straight away again, so I switched on the timer ithat Octopus put into my Porsche schedule, which has now paused the charge, but I bet it doesn't charge overnight. I am luckily ok for charge at the moment, so I can try a few things without being concerned about not charging.

Thanks Ian. It does indeed set a timer but it seems to charge non stop as soon as I plug in. I plugged in this afternoon and it started charging straight away again, so I switched on the timer ithat Octopus put into my Porsche schedule, which has now paused the charge, but I bet it doesn't charge overnight. I am luckily ok for charge at the moment, so I can try a few things without being concerned about not charging.

Out of interest, I am still on OIG, but don't use the intelligent bit.
Just the cheap rate.

I now have no devices assigned on OIG app, but still get the cheap rate.
So, we have mine and wife's car set to 'immediate charge' and use the evse set to OIG times.

It kicks on at 11.30 and stops when it reaches the cars set charge limit (80% me / 100% Wife's phev).

Octopus emailed last week to say we still get the OIG rate even without a device assigned.

By way of an update. I plugged in last night with timer that Octopus previously set up switched on, which had an "charge complete" date as 2 days away. It didn't start charging until 11.30pm and finished by 5.30am. This meant that it worked as expected.

Interestingly, I wanted my car warmed up by 7.45am, and so, this morning, I created a timer and sent this (which only included the heater) and then the car started to charge again.

This all leads me to the conclusion that I must not have any other charging timers set up in the Porsche app, other than the Octopus created one, and should have that switched on to ensure the car doesn't charge any sooner than I want.
