Porsche Connect App is not available in my country, any body is facing the same problem?

Guys I think I've made mention before. I think the issue is with DU / Etisalat (telcos), Porsche and government regulators in UAE.

The tech works outside of UAE but to work it requires a contractual agreement between a telco provider & Porsche and regulatory approval. I suspect (for whatever reason) this hasn't been agreed in UAE for Porsche vehicles - odd I know but the means to make it work are clearly there.

I also wouldn't fret over having it as it really is of limited use / value - slow to use, unreliable and so on.

I have checked with the dealer and the Connect app/services never worked for any Porsche model so far. So the Taycan is not an exception.

This is really not acceptable by any standards. I have tried every possible channel to know form Porsche or the dealer when it is going to be available and why is it not available. No clear answer so far. The irony is that the complaint that I raised to Porsche they have forwarded it to the dealer although the issue is with Porsche not the dealer as the poor dealer is clueless.
I am going to complain to the consumer protection department in Dubai and I urge the Porsche owners who are facing the same issue to do the same.
I just ordered a 4S MY22 in early september in Dubai. I asked about this issue to the dealer but the reply i got was "we dont know when it will work"...

Doesn’t seem like it’s going to be available in UAE for a while. Shouldn’t hold you back though. The car is a pleasure to drive.
did you get the app in the UAE yet ?

I just placed my order and the dealer said “Porsche Middle East is in discussions to sort it out. No estimate on when it will be available”. Such a pity.

It's not been available for over a year now so you'd need to be fairly patient!

My hunch is that is has something to do with the local telco providers - Etisalat / du - and an as yet unresolved contractual arrangement to carry the services but I am 100% guessing.

Not yet, should receive it next week. Did you order one as well? When is yours arriving ?

Agreed. As I mentioned in the thread, it is Porsche Middle East and not the dealers. I called the number they gave you and they opened a complaint and forwarded it to the dealer. Isn’t this ironic :(

Hi! In my country Domincan Republic don't work too.i just know before I bought, very disappointed.
I mean after I bougth my Taycan and they delivered to me, my dealer told me don't have, very disappointed, they said they are working on it, that's was 1 year ago.

i received my taycan last week.. I'm from Kuwait and have the same proble..!the dealer said its not working in the whole MENA region not only my country. No specific date when will be available

Maybe if everyone from the MENA region emailed them demanding this service be enabled. There could be some strength in numbers for this one to be overcome. I already emailed and i got a generic response below:

We appreciate your interest in Smart Mobility services, yet we are sorry to inform you that at the moment the services are unfortunately not available in the Middle East and Africa market.

Please be assured that we are currently working to improve our services to fulfil customer's requests.

Hi,

I am from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Porsche Middle East or their dealers are not availing the app - not creating users accounts for us in our country. The app is available on the AppStore but can not create users for our country.
I wonder if any other countries are facing the same or if there is a workaround for the problem?

Hi , here in Dominican Republic Don’t allow me to connect too , Porsche Dealer told me it’s Porsche that is blocking. But I got a question for you , your CarPlay works wireless ?? And smart lift function work in your car ?? CarPlay in my car is only by wired not wireless and the Smart lift don’t appear on the menu .

I've done the latest campaign update (WNJ8 - VR19.0.1) in Kuwait. Still no Porsche Connect App nor Wireless Carplay/Android Auto. At least we got android auto wired now. Is it the same for you guys in the UAE?

Personally, I didn't see much benefit in the update. I liked the monochrome icons better than the colored ones and I no longer use Android Auto, I bought my first iPhone for the Taycan. Actually, I lost a "Feature". My car does not have the 3D surround camera but I could enable it before with the invisible icons trick. Now, that is no longer possible.
