Hi Folks

The UK configurator has the same cost (£6228) for both pre-approved colours and for PTS (unique colour match to customer's needs).

I have been told by my dealer, that a former 'standard' Porsche colour (e.g. lizard green), if it's not on the Custom list, .... is classed as PTS - i.e. the same as if I wanted them to match my wife's nail varnish.

And further, that PTS colours are double the cost of pre-approved because of the feasibility study costs. I just have to accept this as fact (for now).

This advice seems to be at odds with the published config costs - where cost shown as being the same for both PTS and pre-approved nothing to differentiate them nor mention of additional feasibility costs.

Has anyone any experience of ordering a non-pre-approved PTS colour?

Was it double the cost of pre-approved?

Cheers

I think you have misunderstood. If you go on the custom colour then it is an extra £6k Fo pre approved colours. In the open dialogue box, if you check the unique colour radio button it is an additional £6k, so a total of £12k

You can make any color a true PTS, but it will cost double the pre approved list of colors and can take over a year for a feasibility study.
Matte colors are not an option.

The feasibility study also goes by model so lizard green will be approved for 911, Panamera, 718, but not Taycan.
Taycan will need its own feasibility study.

This requires a deposit for the PTS study that will be refunded if it's not possible to get the custom paint approved.

IMO it's a waste of time and money, especially for a color that is on a 911 color.
I believe these common 911 colors will be eventually be approved by Porsche anyway, in time.

On a side note I have all kinds of nail polish I've been collecting over the years for the right time to make a special PTS

Thanks Mr M - yes I see that now - I just saw the selection gadget toggling between the two option - I did not notice the total cost swapping between 6 and 12K. Many thanks

haha - I was going to take a tartan (plaid) scarf in for PTS! - To make the Taycan Plaid! ;)

Thanks guys all is very clear now. Much appreciated. 12K too rich for me.

But I have a couple of colours on the list as a fall-back

Thanks - much appreciated! - please advise, how recent is that?

I had sight of a recent taycan specific list in another post - and that had no proper yellows - cheers
