For those of us who live in colder climbs watch out for the big range hit when you get to 2 deg C (35F) and below.

I managed a poor 1.8 miles / kWh (normally 3.0) this weekend - snow - on a distance of 32 miles. At SOC 85% I had 204 miles range, pre-heated the car to 22C (whilst on the PMCC), set off, AC 23C (ECO mode), heated seats & wheel on, max 60 - 65 mph, range mode engaged for most of the journey, final SOC around 145 miles (can't remember exactly).

If it weren't for the PB+ I would be getting really anxious as to how quickly the energy runs out and setting AC off isn't really an option (window demisting).

Are others seeing similar range degradation (I assume so)?

Here's hoping Porsche are keeping up with Mercedes (???kW battery, new tech), Lucid (114kW battery), others with real world range of 500+ miles in the near future.

I realise I hit the like button but the like is only for the last sentence of course! Mind you, I am always getting less than 3 miles/Kwh. I know I have 21's vs 20's wheels but still - are you getting that by hypermilling?

Blimey, I’ve only averaged 2.1 so far. Winter will be fun!

With heat pump (if equipped) AC off does not help, especially the opposite below 20 deg C. To use the benefits (lower consumption) of it, AC has to be kept on.

Range mode on a journey of 126 - 130 miles - cruise set to 70 mph, 8.5K on the odometer, average speed around 50 mph. Generally 2.8 - 3.0. Warmer temps than now. No hyper milling but I do have regen on which only kicks in when cruise is off. Not convinced regen (in my case) adds a lot - I get further by coasting I think.

Still poor range compared to our friends in US (Florida, California, Houston etc).

I haven't noticed significant range degradation during previous week even there were between 1-3 degrees in the morning, less than 10 during the day, so average consumption was still below 28kwh/100km (my daily route home-work-home about 90km).

Yesterday in the morning, I had just a short trip (30km all together, 33kwh/100km), with 2 degrees C.

Heat pump is std in UK.

ECO mode (as per RANGE drive mode) adds to the efficiency and a little more from ECO Plus. Switching AC off makes a dramatic difference - adds 13 - 15 miles (tried this yesterday) - so not sure how this aligns with your thinking?

Be aware of this how aligns with my thinking. With switched off AC heat pump is useless. It means that, heat pump is not operating.

Still 3.1 over the 135 miles I did trundling around Devon/Dorset this weekend.

Yes, coasting should generally be more efficient than any recup. Not just your case, but just generally. ?

Did you get a chance to note your battery temperature when you started and finished? Would be interesting to see how well the pre heating had warmed the battery? 32 miles is not a long drive if the car needs to heat up that battery.

Any thoughts?

Thx - it doesn't do as the description says (fact) - Selecting each of the AC modes from AC On Auto through to OFF shows an immediate and commensurate increase in RANGE (not decrease). No manual control of the heat pump so we have to assume it's automated.

The only obvious effect is that the car cabin warms very quickly.

I didn't capture it but it was chilly - I think 12C to 13C, which clearly isn't ideal either.

I did preheat the car whilst connected to the PMCC so it had some attempt to heat before departure.

On shorter trips maybe not, but on highway trips when the system generates heat the heat pump is able to use it to heat the cabin.
On the other hand heat pump looses its efficiency at lower temperatures. it is most effective in the range of 10-20C. Below -5C no effect at all, since no usable heat in the system.

Finally enjoy your Porsche. This car is not about consumption but drive.
Focusing on this, maybe your car is Tesla.
If you are concentrating on consumption from the beginning of your drive your car will never generate heat in the system. Electric cars should push hard first to warm up (opposite of ICE cars).
Personally I will rarely use RANGE in my Porsche when arrived. Only in the case if I am in danger to get to the next charger on longer trips. On short trips who cares, rather enjoy the unique dynamics.
