Most other Porsche models I've driven in (991 911, Boxter, two generations of Cayenne) have a button to turn off parking sensor. I find this button particularly useful when driving in winter condition. Last weekend, we had a first real snow of the season and I was shocked to realize there isn't an easy way to turn off the parking sensor, which resulted in car screaming at me for "close by object" every time it reached below 15 km/h. The only thing I can do was exit the parking assist window by pressing a small "x" button on the screen, which got annoying very quickly.

Mapping programmable button to Parking Assist can only bring up the screen but not put it away, and it wasn't going to be feasible since I would have to press it every two inches the car moves. Does anyone have a better solution than what I had to do last weekend? Winter is here and I would hate to drive Taycan like that every time it snowed.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers.

Yeah.. so no way to turn it off quickly from the driving condition? I quite like when the car pulls up the assist when things get close or when I am maneuvering tight back streets, but I just want it off on very specific moments.

Thanks for the reply.
Cheers.

You have I think two buttons (one on the steering wheel) who are user defined. Can you not allocate this park assist turn off to one of these buttons?

As I stated on my first post, you can only bring the parking assist window up by assigning multi function button, not put it away. :(

Then there might be no solution at this moment unfortunately. I don't know if the new PCM will have more options / flexibility.

I guess I don't understand the problem. It seems to me like the Taycan gives you plenty of capability to avoid the problem you had with Park Assist auto-activating :

You can switch off automatic activation as observed by jontybutts above. Do it when you are ready to go driving in the snow. Then, when you are about finished driving in the snow and ready to maneuver into a parking place, you can activate it manually with a push of the button at the lower left of the center console. The Taycan still auto-activates Park Assist when you shift into R, even with automatic activation switched off.
