I just talked to my SA. The dealer software is as opaque about when the car will arrive as TYD is. My dealer won't finalize the deal until the car arrives. That makes sense to me and I don't have a problem with it.

The only direct info the dealer gets about transport is that the car is released for transport. They don't know when the truck actually leaves. Maybe Porsche is waiting for the next boat to add some more cars to make a full truck?

Of course my SA is on the lookout for the transport truck, which has a big Porsche logo on it, and will call me if it appears today.

BTW my dealer is open tomorrow and Sunday.

Also, in case you are going into your dealer today to finalize things... my dealer is very busy, absolutely slammed with customers, today.

Technically I don't think you need to file anything other than the tax rebate form to get the rebate. But if the IRS comes back at you, you will want that bill of sale. I doubt my CPA would sign my tax form if I claimed a 12/31 put into service date and didn't back it up with a bill of sale.

Do you know what physical or electronic document we need for the tax credit?

There is a document you get from the dealer - not the sales contract - that specifies your car is eligible for the credit. Get it from dealer at closing.

I think there is some kind of IRS official list of what's eligible and how much the rebate is. When I asked CPA about it he asked me for the brand, model and year. Then he got back to me and said it was a $7500 rebate.
