I have been using some other threads for reference (West Coast deliveries) and it seems some have their cars sit at the Port for quite a while. I am hoping since @Dan1923 got his, that things that our drop-off (Jax) were moving at a good pace. I don't know how many cars get dropped off though. Might be well in the thousands for all we know..
Yes, didn’t someone in this thread mention that a dealer had cars held up in Jacksonville for at least 2 weeks?
Dan the man must be VIP!

I know this is an electric forum ? (I had a tesla Y performance) but the sound and thrill of a naturally aspirated 4.0 is just like nothing else.

Taking it tomorrow to get PPF/Ceramic/Tints

Curious why everyone schedules their PPF so quickly. I would want to drive and enjoy car for at least a week or so before I give it back to a shop.

Is there a reason to do it immediately?

To prevent rock chips before PPF. It’s a case of putting PPF on paint with no rock chips vs the risk of it being chipped before protection. Ideally, you would PPF it immediately before driving it.

Throw on some tracwrap and have fun with it for a little while. :)

Rock chips not really a concern on the roads where I live, but I will do it soon!

It’s not just protecting from rock chips. Your dealer, in the process of cleaning the car for delivery to you can end up marring the paint or adding chemicals/wax to it that the give ceramic applicator extra work to clean up and paint correct. Driving picks up bugs, which if they stick for too long damage the clear coat. And just normal "stuff" that attaches your car.

The other thing is “When is the easiest time to give up your car for two days to get paint corrected and ceramic coated?”

Right now , before you start driving it:). Once you get your hands on the car and start driving it you won’t want to give it up for two days or even two minutes… I know that’s a big reason I’m having it done before I pick it up.

Here are some videos of what has to be done to a new car before ceramic coating is applied.
